  1. Edgar,

Any particular reason why you left out WC qualifier URU-JOR (0:0) from last Wednesday ?

  2. Jordan has 511 points after the draw (0-0) with Uruguay

  3. There's no particular reason. It was a mistake :)

    Fixed now.

  5. FIFA removed both matches. Probably some minor infringement on the Equatorial Guinea match (non neutral 4th referee or something, but definitely not the number of substitutes), and for the South Africa match there is a famous story that the FIFA official allowed the rules and agreements to be broken by allowing a 7th substitute, so the match is scrapped from the FIFA ranking. Knowing FIFA, they'll add it again now there's so much controversy about it. Check the FIFA list yourself, they've removed both matches and handed Spain 41 points instead of them losing 20 or so. As I mentioned earlier, this is a DISGRACE!

    1. Equatorial Guinea match was not included because it was not approved by CAF according to the regulations.

South Africa match was eventually included.

  6. Unfortunatelly this ranking is not the one to be used for the final draw! Portugal and Italy seeded (instead of Switzerland and Belgium)

  7. Please I want to know why Nigeria dropped 3 places after beating Ethiopia 2-1 and drawing 2-2 with Italy, yet with -14 point. Think the country should have moved up rather than come down

    1. readmii - Nigeria also lost vs. Jordan. That defeat and the few points they got vs. Italy (178.56) actually lowered Nigeria's average. Without these two matches they would have had 743 points (19 more than October).

  8. A small, but not unimportant, improvement in FIFA's calculations: the awarding of the match Angola-Liberia (played in September 7th original result 4:1) to 3:0 the past month has NOT lead to a change in match points for Angola.
The original match points for Angola were based on the position of Liberia in the Aug 2013 ranking (103rd): 626,65
Until now FIFA would have used the latest ranking (Oct 2013) to take the position of Liberia (106th) and assess the match points for Angola in the November ranking at 606,3. This would cost Angola 1 FIFA point in the latest ranking without any valid reason.

FIFA has seen the light in this matter !
