  1. Hi. Why is Afghanistan losing points if it was not for winning some matches in the SAFF 2015?

  2. Edgar used the minimum points in the table for Afghanistan. This means he included three losses for Afghanistan in the group stage of SAFF 2015. A bit pessimistic with regard to the defending champion, I think.
Three group-stage wins earn Afghanistan 187 points; a win in the semi-final 189 points and a win in the final 192 points, the maximum points Edgar presented. So even with a reprise of your title Afghanistan will lose some points compared to the December ranking (194).

  4. Edgar wanted to show the worst each country could do. It was not meant to predict the outcomes.

  6. Is there any effect on rankings if the country wins it in extra time or penalties?

    1. A win in extra time counts, just like a normal win in 90 minutes, as 3 points for the winner and no points for the loser. When it goes to penalties the winner of the penalty shoot out gets 2 points and the loser 1 point.
India will have 139 points on spot 163 in the January ranking.
