Playoff seedings to be announced in advance

The Fifa general secretary, Jérôme Valcke said in a press conference in Abu Dhabi:

"Even before the qualifiers for the World Cup in 2014 start, we will say the seedings will be under the following rule."

He was talking about the seeding process in the European play-offs.

That's obviously a step in the right direction. Will FIFA go one better and also announce the final seeding criteria before the start of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers?

  1. It's seems to me that FIFA World Cup seeding works like Wimbledom Tennis Open. I don't know how is it working nowadays, but not long ago the organisers simply refused to follow ATP rankings. So does FIFA.

FIFA thinks the World Cup Comittee must decide this matter; and after knowing all 32 teams.
