  1. Despite your recent efforts in updating information about the Fifa ranking, you are not receiving comments as often. This may be partly due to the fact that Worldcup qualifications reached their end. However continental finals are a source for important changes in the fifa ranking system. While Africa has often two or three teams in the top 20, is it possible to see more teams after the African Cup of Nations (ACN).

I think that a lot of changes are going to occur in the top 20 following games from ACN 2010 in Angola. A question that rises to my mind is that what's the maximum number of CAF national teams that we can have in the top 20 for the next Fifa ranking appearing on February 3rd? Are Cote d'Ivoire and Cameroon going to leave the top 20 and leaving the african leadership to north african rivals Algeria and Egypt after their elimination in the ACN quarter-finals? Can Ghana and Nigeria jump to the top 20 at the end of the ACN. PSO for the four remaining games of the ACN 2010 may keep Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria and Ghana in the top 20?

Can you generate something like the one we have seen before the world cup seeding in November 2009 for possible outcomes of France, Portugal, Argentina, Russia and the Netherlands?

    Thanks a lot.
    Regards.

  2. Brahim, I don't compute the rankings to get many comments. :)

I'll try to do what you asked later today or on Friday.

We'll certainly have a new CAF leader, because Egypt are now top and will finish ahead of both Cameroon and Cote d'Ivoire even if they lose their next two matches. Also, Nigeria have overtaken Cote d'Ivoire.

  3. Sorry Brahim, I had no time on Wednesday. However, this post will answer some of your questions.
