  1. Why are all these friendlies disappearing from FIFA website? Morocco - Netherlands, Mexico - Ireland, Switzerland - Belarus, Ivory Coast - Benin?

Is it because 7 subs? Judging by this report:
    http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/40117971
there were only 6 subs in Mexico - Ireland match last night.

  2. Nogomet, unfortunately the FIFA fixture/result list on their site is not very stable in its contents. I have experienced the following glitches since their last major revamp of the site:
    - several scheduled World Cup qualifiers from the hexagonal disappeared for shorter or longer periods from the fixture list, to reappear later.
    - some friendlies disappeared from the list to reappear after they were played.
    - in the last May ranking the friendly Curacao - El Salvador (played 22 March 2017) was incorporated in the points calculation, but was suddenly not in the list (and still hasn't reappeared while this match also is incorporated in the calculation of the June ranking).
    - they are struggling particularly with friendlies with African teams involved. It concerns mostly B-teams of the better African countries and they are not really consistent in incorporating these kind of friendlies, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.
    - I tried to calculate the June ranking this afternoon (after two weeks abroad): evidently the points of Benin were calculated including both friendlies against Burkina Faso (May 4th and 21st) and a, for me unknown, friendly against Ghana (May 25th). All three matches no longer appear in the results list today.
    - the friendlies you mentioned were visible again this afternoon, except Cote d'Ivoire-Benin. But several friendlies played last Friday, yesterday and today (I just saw) are suddenly gone. I suspect another major glitch.

But it's rather unfortunate as this fixture/result list is the one and only official source for the calculation of FIFA points. And it's far from reliable at the moment. The best thing is to decide which matches to include in the ranking calculation based on each published ranking.

  3. Hi Ed, there used to be a section on the FIFA website where you could input your countries latest result to see what the points earned/lost would be, before the official final points are every month, but I can't see it now?

  4. Hi Ger, you mean FIFA's own prognosis-tool found here ?
Don't get me started on the reliability of that tool :)
