FIFA Ranking: September 2012 preview (II)

Next update: 31 August 2012.

FIFA will publish the ranking on 5 September.

The official deadline for matches is 30 August, thus the India - Cameroon match (31 August) shouldn't be included. However, FIFA do have the habit of moving the deadline - no later than Sunday though.

Ten matches left - all friendlies. Jamaica - Kenya and nine Nehru Cup matches.

FIFA will publish the ranking on 17 August 2012.

FIFA have confirmed by e-mail Great Britain matches won't be included.

Best movers:

5 - Wales and South Africa
2 - Iceland, New Zealand, Austria, Hong Kong, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia


Worst movers:

-4 - Hungary
-3 - Korea DPR and Slovakia
-2 - Sweden, Republic of Ireland and Uruguay

Four teams will improve their best ever ranking:

Mali will be at least 34th (previous best 35th - February 2007).
Central African Republic will be at least 68th (previous best 71 - August 2012).
Dominican Republic will be at least 105th (previous best 116 - May 1996).
American Samoa will be at least 174th (previous best 182 - August 2012).

Nehru Cup - Could AIFF have invited better teams?

The AIFF (All India Football Federation) have invited 4 teams for the 2012 Nehru Cup: Cameroon (rank 59), Syria (147), Maldives (161) and Nepal (162). India (ranked 168) would get 363.78 points for a win against Cameroon, 136.74 for Syria and 129 for winning against Maldives or Nepal.
