FIFA Ranking: December 2009 interim ranking

  1. I don't understand how the strength of a confederation is calculated, after each World Cup.
In the FIFA informative file is stated: "The strength of a confederation is calculated on the basis of the number of victories by confederation at the last three FIFA World Cup™ competitions"..
    Any suggestion?

  2. FIFA have said they can't give me a more detailed answer or the calculation method.
I tried to compute those values myself, but no luck.

  3. have been really rooting for New Zealand to make it to South Africa, but realise now I should have been supporting my AFC brethren Bahrain all along for that 5th spot. The more AFC teams, the more chances of some wins, and hopefully some improvement to the 0.85 Continental Weighting. Now I have to just rely on the Korea Republic - DPR Korea WC final occurring.
